One Of Fremonts Winter Camp Grounds
"Long Camp"

Fremonts "Long Camp" last Camp before Crossing The Carson Pass area.
Stayed 10 days here in the middle of Feb. My father in the third row down
second photo he is standing on the exact spot, also 2nd row first photo.
We only found it by using a GPS. Its on top of a hill about 1/2 mile
off the main road. 4 wheel drive road.

The site location of Fremont's camp used for 10 days during his 1844 winter crossing of the
Sierra Nevada. With him were Kit Carson, Tom "Broken Hand" Fitzpatrick, Alex Godey; in all,
30 men and 56 horses and mules.
